Cherry-topped Funnel Cake

Make fair funnel cakes at home with this easy funnel cake recipe made with pancake mix. Tastes just like the real  deal using just 5 ingredients plus any toppings you'd like, like cherry pie filling. 

KEY INGREDIENTS

Buttermilk Pancake Mix Egg  Milk Vegetable Oil TOPPINGS Powdered Sugar Cherry Pie Filling

Combine pancake mix, egg, milk, and vegetable oil in a large bowl. Blend using an electric mix. It will be rather thick. Not super runny. Heat oil in a deep skillet until 375ºF.

DIRECTIONS

Scrap batter into a pastry bag. Do this in batches as needed. Cut a small tip off your piping bag. Drizzle batter into the hot oil in a circular motion. It doesn’t have to be perfect.

Fry for about two minutes, then gently press into the oil with your spatula to fry the top. Once the funnel cake is completely golden brown, remove it and drain on a paper plate.

Transfer cake to a serving plate and sprinkle generously with powdered sugar. Spoon on cherry topping if desired. Enjoy!
