8ozwide egg noodles cooked al dente, according to package directions
1cupfrozen peas
1cupshredded cheddar cheese
Instructions
Preheat oven to 375°F.
Cook noodles. Prepare egg noodles, drain and set aside.
Cook beef and onion. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook ground beef, and onion until beef is browned and onion is translucent, about 5-7 minutes.Drain excess fat; add garlic and cook an additional one minute.
Prepare sauce. In a large bowl, whisk together cream of mushroom soup, cream of celery soup, sour cream, milk, dried thyme, salt, and pepper.
Combine meat, sauce, peas and noodles. Add cooked egg noodles, ground beef mixture, and frozen peas to the sauce. Stir to combine.Pour mixture into prepared baking dish, and top with shredded cheddar cheese.
Bake. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until casserole is hot and bubbly and the cheese is melted.
Notes
If you don't have a very large bowl, you can combine the cooked beef, noodles, and sauce right in your casserole dish.
You don't have to grease your casserole dish, but it might help prevent noodles from sticking to the bottom so you may want to do so.
Start with lean beef to eliminate having to drain away grease.
