Move beyond the basic burger and try these amazing Greek Turkey Burgers! Seasoned ground turkey patties are grilled then topped with homemade Tzatziki-inspired sauce, lettuce, tomato, and red onion, all layered inside a toasted sesame-seed bun. A delicious dinner that's ready in just 30 minutes.
Make yogurt sauce: In a small bowl combine all of the yogurt sauce ingredients. Cover and place in the fridge to marinade while you make your burgers.
Make burgers: In a large bowl combine all burger ingredients except for olive oil and egg. In a separate bowl whisk the egg, then add to the meat mixture. Be careful not to over mix.Divide meat mixture, evenly, into 4 burgers. Prep your grill (or use a griddle or skillet) with a generous amount of olive oil. Heat to 450˚F or medium high heat on the stove top. Cook burgers for 5-7 minutes on each side.* Once burgers are done, remove from heat.
Add buns, face-down, to toast. Toast for 2-3 minutes or until golden brown.
Assemble your burgers: Add a light portion of yogurt sauce to your bottom bun, next add burger, lettuce, tomato, red onion, and more yogurt sauce. Top with top bun and serve!
Notes
You can season your burgers to your liking adding more or less salt and other seasonings as desired.
Use a silicone basting brush coated with oil to prep your grill or pan. Or use spray oil. This will prevent the burgers from sticking and falling apart.
*Burgers should be no longer pink and should read 165ºF with a meat thermometer.
Add grated cucumber for more traditional Tzatziki sauce.
