Fire up the grill for these Hawaiian Shrimp Kabobs! Made with just 5 ingredients—bacon-wrapped shrimp, pineapple, sweet Vidalia onion, grape tomatoes, and BBQ sauce. A sweet and savory combo that’s easy, fun, and full of tropical flavor. Perfect for summer cookouts!
Soak bamboo skewers in water for at least 30 minutes ahead of time (if you don't they'll likely burn).
Grill bacon at 400˚F for about 5-7 minutes using the gill pan. Bacon should be cooked but not crispy.Remove bacon and set aside. Do not clean bacon grease from grill pan.
Assemble skewers. Cut pineapple rings into 8 pieces. Cut onion into chunks, two layers thick. Peel raw shrimp and wrap in partially cooked bacon. Skewer ingredients, alternating. See photos!
Grill kabobs. Place kabobs on greased grill pan or directly on the grill and grill over medium heat until shrimp is cooked through, about 3-5 minutes on each side.
Brush with barbecue sauce using a basting brush, and serve immediately.
Notes
Cook time varies depending on thickness of bacon. Cook to your desired level of crispness.
You want to partially grill the bacon itself first since it takes longer to cook than the other ingredients.
To prevent kabobs from sticking to the grill, be sure to grease you pan or the grill with oil before adding kabobs.
