This easy recipe for Raspberry Chocolate Mousse dessert is perfect for celebrating special occasions!
An easy yet fancy dessert!
Can you literally whip up this mousse in minutes and it tastes amazing. It just requires a little time to chill but can be made ahead or made the same day with enough time to chill (2 hours is ideal).
Raspberry + Chocolate = Heaven
This particular mousse recipe features chocolate and raspberry — a favorite combination of mine. The two just go so well together.
We’re using seedless raspberry jam for this recipe to eliminate the texture seeded raspberry jam would add. Seedless jam keeps the mousse smooth and creamy. If you don’t mind a little extra texture in your mouse, you can go ahead and use seeded raspberry jam instead. Up to you.
How to Serve this Raspberry Chocolate Mousse
You can serve these in ramekins, mason jars, wine glasses or in tall champagne glasses. There is no right or wrong way to serve this dessert and what you serve it in can really change the vibe and the finished look. Since it’s so versatile, you can choose what container goes with the theme of your occasion or matches the level of fanciness of what it is you’re celebrating.
I like to garnish this mousse with a raspberry or two and a sprig of mint leaves. It’s pretty and simple. You could also top with slivered almonds, chopped hazelnuts, chocolate shavings, crushed Oreo crumbs, white chocolate chips… anything chocolate works!
Want to add a healthy touch?
Replace 1/2 cup of the heavy cream with plain Greek yogurt. The texture will be slightly more dense but the flavor will be great. The hint of sour that the Greek yogurt has really works with this recipe. Add this in when you add the raspberry jam.
Love Nutella?
Me too. You can add a tbsp or two of Nutella right into this recipe when you add the raspberry jam. It will give this mousse an extra layer of flavor that I’m pretty sure you’ll love.
Try honey instead of sugar.
You can replace some or all of the sugar in this recipe with honey. This will obviously change the flavor to have that classic honey taste but it works well with the chocolate and raspberry combo. If you’re trying to reduce refined sugars, this is a great substitution.
