★ Tips & FAQs ★
Be sure to start with chilled ingredients for best results, espeically on hot days.
A Limoncello Spritz is best served in a large wine glass or stemmed balloon glass to showcase the bubbles and allow room for ice and garnish. Serve this spritz in a glass that is 12oz or larger.
To add sweetness to a Limoncello Spritz, try adding simple syrup or a flavored sparkling water to add more sweetness.
I do not recommend this. A spritz is best made fresh and one serving at a time. Due to the nature of the effervescence (bubbles), you don't want to prepare this in a larger batch or too far ahead of time, or your cocktails will be flat.
No special supplies are needed. A lemon juicer is helpful but you can also just squeeze the lemon over a bowl and remove seeds using a fork.
You'll also need something to lightly stir the cocktail. A swizzel stick is fun if you like being fancy, but you can also just use a spoon.
Limoncello is a traditional Italian liqueur made from lemon zest, alcohol, water, and sugar. It's known for its bright yellow color and intense lemon flavor.
While limoncello contributes a unique flavor profile to this cocktail, you can experiment with other citrus liqueurs if desired by substituting some or all of the limoncello with another citrus liqueur.
Any clear, unflavored sparkling soda works well for this recipe. Club soda or sparkling mineral water are popular choices, but feel free to use your favorite brand.
Yes! You can easily create a non-alcoholic version of the Limoncello Spritz by substituting the limoncello with lemonade and eliminating the Prosecco, replacing it with extra seltzer water. Feel free to adjust the proportions to suit your taste preferences.
