Witch-brewed Cider with Apple Heads

Every now and then I pretend that I am crafty. Usually it’s inspired, or ahem, pretty much a stolen idea straight off of Pinterest. As is the case here. However, I did peel and carve these little apple heads myself and even drove to the store to purchase a gallon of fresh apple cider.  Give me a little credit.

After I combined the peeled and carved apples with the cider and then proceeded to take a million and one photos, I let my kids dive in… and they were loving it! They even ate the apples after they downed, um a few cups of cider. Yikes! Sometimes they like things a little too much.

So yes, this isn’t too much of a “recipe” per say but more of a super cute edible decoration for a fall or Halloween themed party. Right now it’s helping me over this hump of saying goodbye to summer and helllllo to one of the best yet shortest seasons of them all… my dearly beloved fall.black-cauldron-punch-bowl

I made the punch in my dutch oven but how fun would it be served as a Halloween decorative party punch in THIS cauldron punch bowl??

Instructions

  • 1. Peel apples. Then fill a small bowl with water and float the peeled apples. Note the side that is facing up and carve your face on that side of the apple.
  • 2. Pour cider into a large pot and bring to a boil. Remove from heat and add apple heads and cinnamon sticks. Or, serve cold if you prefer.
