    ★ Why You'll Love this Recipe ★

A Sweet Way to Use Leftover Watermelon

Ever buy a huge watermelon, enjoy a few slices, and then stare at the rest wondering what to do with it? We've all been there. Instead of letting that juicy fruit go to waste, turn it into something fun and refreshing—Watermelon Lime Slushies! It’s the perfect solution for leftover watermelon, especially on hot summer days when you’re craving something cool.

    Just Two Main Ingredients

This slushy recipe is as simple as it gets. All you need is watermelon and fresh lime juice—yep, that’s it! The watermelon brings all the natural sweetness, while the lime adds a bright, zesty kick that balances everything out. No added sugar, no fancy syrups—just pure, fruity goodness in a frosty drink.

So Easy, You’ll Make Them All Summer

To make these, just cube your leftover watermelon and freeze it. Once frozen, toss the chunks into a blender with the juice of a lime and blend until smooth and slushy. That’s it! No need to mess with ice or extra liquids—the frozen melon creates the perfect texture on its own.

    Kid-Friendly

These slushies are great for kids and adults alike, and they’re naturally dairy-free, no sugar added and low-calorie. They'll hydrate you too!

    Party-Ready

Want to make it a grown-up treat? Add a splash of tequila, vodka or even rum for a super easy summer cocktail. Whether you're poolside, on the patio, or just trying to beat the heat, Watermelon Lime Slushies are a total win.

    ★ Ingredients You'll Need ★

To make these Watermelon Lime Slushies, here's what you'll need.

    • Leftover watermelon. Cut it off the rind, place in a plastic bag and freeze it overnight.
    • Lime. Juiced. Fresh squeezed is best.
    • Mint. Optional but makes a fun garnish.

    ★ Tips & FAQs ★

How do I freeze leftover watermelon?

Yep! Cut it off the rind and freeze it. Then when you go to make these slushies, you'll already be half way there. No ice needed, just blend the frozen watermelon with lime juice and you have the most amazingly refreshing summer drink you could want.

Can I use lemon instead of a lime?

You can use a lemon and that would work pretty well too. Orange, grapefruit or other fruit juices might even work out well. I personally feel like you can blend just about any combination of fruits together and get something taste so don't be afraid to use what you have and experiment a little. Some of my best recipe discoveries have come from me trying to use up leftovers. Get creative and try different combos using what you have or just blend the frozen watermelon straight for a sweeter drink.

Can I make this into a frozen cocktail?

Make a frozen watermelon slushie cocktail! Are you over 21? Add tequila or vodka for a refreshing and easy summer cocktail. Want more cocktail ideas? Browse all my cocktail recipes.
