    ★ Why You'll Love this Recipe ★

This Crockpot Honey Lemon-Lime Ham is a stunning and easy-to-make whole ham recipe!

    Sweet Sticky Glaze

Lemon-lime soda, honey, brown sugar, and sliced lemons and limes create a sticky glaze that gives this ham a ton of flavor.

    Cooks in the Crockpot

Making this whole spiral-cut ham in the slow cooker frees up the oven and keeps that ham warm until you're ready to serve.

    Makes Holidays Easy

Full of sweet citrus flavor, this crockpot ham is the perfect main course for Easter but it also makes a great dish to easily serve a crowd for a dinner party or a big family dinner.

Looks as Good as it Tastes

This ham looks just as good as it tastes, garnished with fresh slices of lemon.

    ★ Ingredients You'll Need ★

This recipe is super simple. Made with a 5-ingredient glaze plus a whole ham.

    Here's everything you'll need:

    Crockpot Ham Ingredients
    • Spiral cut ham. This type of ham makes serving a breeze. It's already cut and the slow cooking process loosens each slice up further make serving much easier. No carving required.
    • Lemon-lime soda. You want regular soda not diet because you need that bit of sugar to help thicken the glaze, creating a gorgeous, glistening sheen to your ham that tastes as good as it looks.
    • Lemons and limes. Fresh lemons and limes add citrus flavor and serve as a beautiful garnish.
    • Brown sugar. Use light or dark depending on how deep you want the flavor of the glaze to be. Dark brown sugar has more of that rich molasses taste to it.
    • Honey. This further sweetens and thickens the glaze. Just a little honey adds that nostalgic flavor of honey without overpowering. It perfectly balances out the lemons and limes.

★ How to Make this Recipe ★

This recipe comes together in a few simple steps.

Here's a look and how to prep and heat this crockpot ham:

    How to Make Crockpot Ham
    1. Combine glaze ingredients.
    2. Simmer to thicken glaze.
    3. Add ham to crockpot.
    4. Pour over half the glaze. Slow cook on low.
    5. Add remaining glaze.
    6. Optional: Caramelize top by broiling the serve!

Easy. You can serve the ham from your crockpot or move it to a serving platter if you prefer. You will not need to carve the ham, but you may want to offer a knife and fork to easily cut away the slices from the bone.

    ★ Tips & FAQs ★

How much ham do I need per person?

You can figure on ½ lb per person on average. Obviously some people may eat more or less depending on their appetite and how many other side dishes are offered. So feel free to adjust accordingly but ½ lb per person is a generous starting point.

Can I use a different type or size of ham for this recipe?

Yes, you can use a different type of ham, but the cooking time may vary. Adjust the cooking time based on the size and type of ham you choose. This recipe works great with a boneless ham, too, just adjust your cooking time in the slow cooker.

How long should I cook ham in the crockpot?

The cooking time depends on the size of your ham. Generally, a 5-7 pound ham will take around 4-6 hours on low or 2-3 hours on high.
Refer to your ham's packaging for help with more precise cook times and temperatures.

Should I remove the skin from ham before cooking?

It's not necessary to remove the skin before cooking, as it helps keep the ham moist. The skin is edible.

What sides pair well with a lemon-lime glazed ham?

Classic side dishes like mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, and a fresh salad complement the citrusy flavors of the ham.
Try my broccoli cheese casserole, a popular Easter dinner menu side dish.

How to I store leftover ham?

Store leftover ham in the fridge wrapped tightly or in an airtight container for up to 4–5 days, or freeze it for up to 2 months for best quality. For freezing, wrap in plastic wrap and foil or use a freezer-safe bag, and label with the date.

What if my glaze is too thick?

If your glaze is too thick, you can thin it out by adding a little water or more lemon-lime soda. Adjust the consistency until it reaches the desired thickness.

    Instructions

    • In a saucepan over medium heat, whisk together lemon-lime soda, brown sugar, honey, and lemon and lime slices.
    • Bring to a simmer and let reduce until thickened, about 10-15 minutes.
    • Place ham into the slow cooker and cover with roughly half the glaze mixture.
Cover and cook on low for 4 hours.
    • Move ham from the slow cooker onto a tray (Or leave in crockpot for serving).
    • Reheat glaze on low and pour over the rest of the glaze.
    • Optional: Place ham onto a lined baking sheet and broiler on low for a few minutes to lightly caramelize the glaze. Keep an eye on it so it doesn't burn.
    • Slice and serve!

    Notes

Optional: To caramelize the top of the glazed ham, move ham to a lined baking sheet, and broil for just a couple of minutes. Move oven racks down as needed to accommodate the ham. Ham should be close without touching the top heating element.
Hams can be quite large so be sure to choose a ham shape and size that fits your slow cooker.
