    ★ Tips & FAQs ★

Can frozen meatballs be baked or cooked on the stovetop instead of in the crockpot?

Yes. The meatballs can be baked for 30 minutes at 375ºF instead of cooked in the crockpot to speed up cook time. Use a 9x12 baking dish to contain the sauce.
These can also be heated on the stove top over medium heat for about 25 minute or until meatballs are hot in the center. Stir as needed.

Can this recipe be made with beef or pork meatballs?

Sure! The Impossible meatballs can be substituted with traditional beef or pork meatballs if you prefer. Just avoid meatballs with Italian flavoring since this is an Asian-forward dish.

How can I make honey-garlic meatballs spicy?

You can add a little red pepper flake to spice this up if you like. Sriracha sauce also works well to layer in some heat.

How do I store leftover cooked frozen meatballs?

Store leftovers in an airtight container in refrigerator for up to 3 days. Leftovers can also be frozen for up to 2 months.
Reheat on the stove top in a pot or in the microwave until warmed through.

    Instructions

    • Cook meatballs in sauce. Heat crockpot to high.
Add honey, brown sugar, ketchup, soy sauce, and garlic and whisk together in a bowl or you can do this directly in the crockpot.
Add frozen meatballs to sauce and cover. Cook for 2 hours (or 4 hours on low) or until sauce is bubbling.
    • Garnish and serve. Spoon meatballs and sauce over warm, cooked rice.
Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds.

    Notes

    • Be sure to stir meatballs occasionally to prevent sauce from burning.
    • The bag of Impossible meatballs is small. If feeding a hungry family of 4, you may want to double the meatballs.
    • Double the sauce if you want extra to go with your rice or veggies.
