This creamy spinach dip is served cold and is ready in just 5 minutes! A perfect last-munute party appetizer served with tortilla chips.

How do you make this delicious cold spinach dip?

This blend of cream cheese, salsa, fresh spinach leaves and garlic is one of my favorite appetizers to make for a party because it requires no cooking, only five ingredients and it’s delicious! Serve with tortilla chips or crusty bread. The bowl always get scraped clean.

Perfect for a football watching party!

Can you make this cold spinach dip with frozen spinach instead of fresh?

You can. Fresh spinach is going to taste a bit better and give you that more vibrant green color but if frozen is more convenient, then that’s fine!

Since this is a cold dip, you can actually just rinse the frozen spinach under lukewarm water to defrost it slightly and then throw it in the blend still semi-frozen. It’ll be fine and will chill the dip quicker.

You will need a blender to make this.

This dip needs to get pureed in order to make it creamy and smooth. For that you will need a blender. The ninja blender works best but any blended will do.

Ingredients
 

  • 10 oz fresh baby spinach leaves large stems removed
  • 15.5 oz jar of your favorite salsa
  • 8 oz cream cheese
  • 1 cup queso fresco
  • 1 tbsp garlic salt more or less to taste

Instructions

  • Put spinach leaves, salsa, cream cheese, queso fesco, and garlic salt into a blender and blend until completely smooth.
  • Serve right away with tortilla chips or chill until ready to serve.

Notes

For a thicker dip, choose a chunky salsa. For a thinner dip, go with a restaurant style salsa.

The color was not vibrant green it was an ugly gray green and very watery.
