    ★ Why You'll Love this Recipe ★

Make your favorite restaurant sauce at home.

Most say Bang Bang Shrimp first appeared as an appetizer at Bonefish Grill. Honestly, Bang Bang Shrimp is likely what made that restaurant famous. It blew up fast!

The secret to that tasty bang bang sauce has been cracked. It’s easy to whip up your own Bang Bang sauce at home.

    Just 3 Ingredients!

I’ve always been impressed by how simple and delicious this iconic 3-ingredient sauce is!

You'll need mayo, Sriracha sauce and Thai sweet chili sauce.

    Make an Appetizer or Meal

I love bang bang sauce on fried shrimp. I toss raw shrimp in a little corn starch seasoned with salt and garlic powder. I fry the shrimp in a skillet until plump then toss the shrimp in bang bang sauce.

You can serve this crispy bang bang shrimp as an appetizer or with rice and a bag of Asian salad for an easy well-loved dinner.

    Bang Bang Shrimp Roll Bowl

    Homemade Bang Bang Sauce

Bang bang sauce is what makes my shrimp roll bowls so delicious. Basically like an unstuffed shrimp roll made with crispy won ton strips, shrimp and slaw. So easy yet elevated with this yummy homemade sauce.

    Bang Bang Sauce for Chicken

Bang Bang sauce also goes great over chicken. I like to add it to my sheet pan teriyaki chicken and teriyaki chicken lettuce wraps, and it adds a nice extra layer of flavor to a chicken egg roll bowl.

    ★ Ingredients You'll Need ★

You'll need just 3 ingredients to create delicious homemade bang bang sauce.

    Homemade Bang Bang Sauce Ingredients
    • Sriracha sauce. This add heats, tang and salt.

    ★ Tips & FAQs ★

    What's in Bang Bang Sauce?

Homemade bang bang sauce is made with 3 ingredients: Sriracha sauce, Thai sweet chili sauce and mayonnaise. Garlic and lime can be added for extra flavor if desired. It's a sweet and spicy creamy sauce.

Is bang bang sauce the same as sriracha mayo?

Bang Bang sauce and Sriracha mayo are similar, but Bang Bang sauce is sweeter and tangier. Bang Bang sauce is made with Thai sweet chili sauce which adds a sweet-heat flavor compared to the spicier, simpler Sriracha mayo.

What can I substitute for mayonnaise in bang bang sauce?

A good substitute for mayonnaise in Bang Bang sauce is plain Greek yogurt, which keeps it creamy with a bit of tang. You can also use sour cream or a dairy-free mayo alternative like vegan mayo or blended silken tofu for a similar texture.

What can I do with bang bang sauce?

Bang Bang sauce is super versatile and goes great on crispy shrimp, Asian dumplings, chicken tenders, grilled or fried fish, and fried cauliflower. It’s also delicious drizzled over fish or shrimp tacos, teriyaki chicken or lettuce wraps, burgers, Asian Pork Sloppy Joe or as a spicy dip for fries. Basically, anything that can use a creamy, sweet, and spicy kick!
