    ★ Ingredients You'll Need ★

Here's a look at everything you'll need to out together a gorgeous bagels and lox charcuterie board!

    Smoked Salmon Bagel Board Ingredients
    • Bagels. Everything or an assortment.
    • Plain cream cheese. I like to use whipped cream cheese, it spreads easier and looks nice in a bowl.
    • Whipped chive cream cheese.
    • Smoked salmon. (Lox are very similar and can be used interchangeably)
    • Tomato. A large slicing tomato is best.
    • English cucumber
    • Lemon. Wedges or slices.
    • Hard-boiled eggs. Optional.
    • Pickled red onions
    • Capers
    • Fresh Dill
    • Fresh chives
    • Everything bagel seasoning

★ How to Make this Recipe ★

While no cooking is required, assembling your bagel board in a certain order, will help the ingredients layer together nicely.

Here's a look at how your bagel board will come together.

How to Make a Bagel Charcuterie Board
    1. Pre-slice and toast bagels (if desired) then add to a large platter.
    2. Add bowls of cream cheese.
    3. Layer in tomato slices and salmon.
    4. Add sliced cucumber.
    5. Add egg and lemon slices.
    6. Garnish with red onion, dill, capers, chives and Everything Bagel seasoning.

    ★ Tips & FAQs ★

    Storage Tips

Keep smoked salmon and cream cheese refrigerated until ready to serve. If you have leftovers, store salmon and eggs separately in airtight containers for up to 2 days. Toast leftover bagels and enjoy with any remaining toppings the next morning.

Can I prep the bagel board ahead of time?

Yes. Assemble everything except for the bagels, cover and chill for up to 4 hours. Remove plastic wrap and add bagels right before serving.

What kind of smoked salmon should I use?

Classic cold-smoked salmon is silky and mild, while hot-smoked salmon is flakier and more robust; both work great! Lox can also be used.

What’s the difference between lox and smoked salmon?

Lox is cured salmon (not smoked) and has a silky texture with a salty flavor. Smoked salmon is cured and smoked, giving it a subtle smoky depth—either works for this board!

What other spreads can I add?

Try different flavored cream cheeses like everything garden, dill, or lemon-herb. Hummus, avocado mash, or whipped feta also make fun alternatives.

What drinks go best with a Smoked Salmon Bagel Board?

Freshly brewed coffee, mimosas, or a lemoncello spritz all balance the salty and creamy flavors perfectly.

Can I add other proteins to the board?

Sure! Smoked trout, thinly sliced prosciutto, or turkey pair well with bagels and cream cheese.

What bagels go best with salmon?

Go with the savory options (Avoid sweet) Everything, plain, sesame, poppy seed, onion, garlic, pumpernickel, rye, and salt bagels all pair deliciously with smoked salmon. Asiago and whole wheat are also great options.

    Notes

Tips for the Best Looking Bagel Board
    • Place bagels and small bowls first, then build around them for balance.
    • Layer and fold the salmon for visual texture.
    • Arrange ingredients in clusters instead of straight lines for a full, inviting look.
    • Add pops of color with herbs, citrus slices, or veggies.
    • Fill any gaps to make the board feel abundant. If you spot an empty space, tuck in a garnish to complete the look.
    • Keep cold items chilled until just before serving.
    • Let guests serve themselves easily with small spoons, knives, or tongs.
    • Finish with a light garnish of herbs, chives, or everything seasoning for that polished touch. If you aren't sure how to do this, just copy the look in my photos!
