★ Tips & FAQs ★
Keep smoked salmon and cream cheese refrigerated until ready to serve. If you have leftovers, store salmon and eggs separately in airtight containers for up to 2 days. Toast leftover bagels and enjoy with any remaining toppings the next morning.
Yes. Assemble everything except for the bagels, cover and chill for up to 4 hours. Remove plastic wrap and add bagels right before serving.
Classic cold-smoked salmon is silky and mild, while hot-smoked salmon is flakier and more robust; both work great! Lox can also be used.
Lox is cured salmon (not smoked) and has a silky texture with a salty flavor. Smoked salmon is cured and smoked, giving it a subtle smoky depth—either works for this board!
Try different flavored cream cheeses like everything garden, dill, or lemon-herb. Hummus, avocado mash, or whipped feta also make fun alternatives.
Freshly brewed coffee, mimosas, or a lemoncello spritz all balance the salty and creamy flavors perfectly.
Sure! Smoked trout, thinly sliced prosciutto, or turkey pair well with bagels and cream cheese.
Go with the savory options (Avoid sweet) Everything, plain, sesame, poppy seed, onion, garlic, pumpernickel, rye, and salt bagels all pair deliciously with smoked salmon. Asiago and whole wheat are also great options.
